Woman charged with DWI after accident in Vienna

Must Read

Vienna police on Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. dispatched officers to the 300 block of Maple Avenue, W., after receiving a report that two women were drinking alcohol in a vehicle in a parking lot.

The vehicle left the area before officers arrived. At 3:20 p.m., officers responded to an accident at Maple Avenue and Pleasant Street involving the same vehicle, which occurred after the driver attempted to turn from Pleasant Street onto Maple Avenue and struck another vehicle.

Upon interacting with the driver of the striking vehicle, police detected signs of impairment. Officers arrested the at-fault driver after she failed to complete a series of field-sobriety tests.

Police took the 66-year-old Vienna woman to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where authorities charged her with driving while intoxicated.
