Wakefield baseball team wins two games

Lorenzo Snyder was the winning pitcher in five innings of work as the Wakefield Warriors defeated the Falls Church Jaguars, 7-2, in a National District high-school baseball game. He struck out six and allowed two earned runs.

Evan Smith pitched two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts, and he gave up one hit. Wakefield did not make an error.

Sean Iredell, Keegan Mahoney (two doubles, two steals) and Jordan Bussie had two hits each for Wakefield; Michael Duncan had a hit and two RBI; and Charles Grove had one hit and one RBI.

Wakefield blanked Jefferson, 10-0, in a previous game as Garrett Dougherty threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts. He added two hits with the bat, Mahoney homered and Bussie and Landon Thomas doubled.
