Vienna police in the early morning hours of Oct. 4 arrested two people on public-drunkenness charges after finding them in greenery on the same block.
Police dispatched officers to Patrick Henry Library, 101 Maple Ave., E., at 3 a.m. after receiving a report that a man was lying down in the grassy median of the parking lot. Upon interacting with the man, officers detected signs of impairment.
Police arrested the 34-year-old Falls Church man and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with being drunk in public.
At 3:29 a.m. that same day, an employee at nearby Bear Branch Tavern, 133 Maple Ave., E., reported a man lying in the flower bed near the restaurant. Upon interacting with the man, the office detected signs of impairment.
Police arrested the 27-year-old Woodbridge man and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with being drunk in public.
