Vienna Town Council members on Feb. 28 unanimously approved payments to two firms for their roles in the town’s bond sale on Feb. 22.

The Council agreed to pay Davenport & Co. $83,200 for serving as adviser for the bond issue. The price includes $80,000 recommended by town staff, plus a 4-percent contingency.

“We’ll only spend what they invoice us for,” said Finance Director Marian Serfass.

Council members also agreed to pay up to $75,000 to retain McGuire Woods LLC as legal counsel for the bond sale.
