Recently re-elected Arlington County Board member Takis Karantonis will be ceremonially sworn in for a four-year term on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the county-government headquarters, 2100 Clarendon Blvd.
Karantonis, a Democrat, won about 60 percent of the vote in a four-way race on Nov. 2 to garner a four-year term that starts Jan. 1.
A former executive director of the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization, Karantonis has served on the five-member board since mid-2020, when he won a special election to fill the seat of Erik Gutshall, a board member who had died several months before.
The ceremony is open to the public, and will come in between meetings of the County Board slated for 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. that day.
