After a two-year hiatus, the Arlington Food Assistance Center’s (AFAC) “Stamp Out Hunger” food-raising drive is slated to return on May 14.
Part of a national effort, the initiative teams up social-safety-net agencies with U.S. Postal Service carriers, who will collect the food and get it delivered to those agencies.
More information is coming soon, AFAC officials said.
On April 23-24, AFAC volunteers will host a food drive at the Cherrydale Safeway (3713 Langston Blvd.) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and on April 28, AFAC will host its Shining a Spotlight on Hunger fund-raiser from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Army Navy Country Club.
