The high-school seasons are now over for most wrestlers. That means it’s time to eat.
For months, the grapplers have had to carefully watch their intakes of calories so they wouldn’t bust their weight classes. Even heavyweights now have a weight limit of 285 pounds, so those close to that total can no longer just freely feast on Hershey Bars while their lighter teammates nibble away on apples and oranges.
But now, its doughnuts, French Fries and pizza time, maybe milkshakes too and one of those triple whatever bacon burgers with extra slices of cheese. Well, at least for some.
For the wrestlers who compete year round, any feeding frenzy can’t last too long, because there is still a weight limit to make.
With the way and as little as they eat sometimes, wrestlers have more discipline about diet than most.
But at least for a few days now, a second or third slice of baloney on a triple-decker sandwich should be OK.
