It’s that time of the year in the spring high-school sports season when many team photos are taken of squads that win various championships.
And those photos are of all types of qualities and setups.
If Sun Gazette photographer Deb Kolt is arranging any team picture, as she often does, you can bet it is of the highest quality. Deb organizes all parties in the photo in a tightly-packed squeeze manner, in which everyone’s face is visible. Faces aren’t hidden by a banner or trophy or behind another player or coach, and they are all looking straight ahead at her.
In many such photos, team members are far too spread out in a horizontal manner, with the parties looking in various directions and pretty much all over. Deb doesn’t allow for that, if she has any choice.
The photo with this blog is of the McLean High School girls softball team after winning the Liberty District tournament. And it’s done very well, considering Deb wasn’t involved in the shoot. If Deb had taken the photo, the final score on the scoreboard would be readable.
Wish all were done of such quality.
