The District 6 Babe Ruth summer baseball program does something different by awarding T-shirts instead of individual medals or trophies to members of tournament championship teams.
The photo with this blog shows players from an Arlington Senior Babe Ruth team that won such a tournament this summer, with the players given championship T-shirts.
That’s a great idea. T-shirts can be worn all the time, showing off the accomplishment and can become a conversation item. Small medals and trophies aren’t likely to be carried around. Years later, sometimes it’s had to remember the specifics of a trophy.
With T-shirts, the acheievements are written on the front or backs, or both, for all the read.
The young Arlington baseball players seemed very happy and appreciative, as well, to receive such T-shirts, immediately putting them on once awarded and passed out. What young person doesn’t like T-shirts?
It’s a good idea and a good thing District 6 has going.
