The Bishop O’Connell High School boys basketball team enjoyed significant success in recent days at two big-time vacation venues playing in holiday tournaments.
First, the traveling Knights finished third with a 3-1 record at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.
Next, O’Connell traveled to Myrtle Beach to play in the annual and long-running Beach Ball Classic that began in 1981, and won the tournament for the first time in 11 attempts, compiling a 3-0 mark, defeating two-time champion Milton High of Georgia in the final.
The Knights had finished second in the tourney a couple of times.
That’s a 6-1 total record at the two holiday events for the Knights, who now own a 7-3 overall mark in all games this season.
Not a bad couple of holiday trips at all for the Knights.
