So what happens if it rains starting this afternoon and continues through Monday, as forecasts suggest? When will Friday night and Saturday afternoon high-school football games be played this weekend?
Will the contests be held as scheduled or moved up earlier on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, or postponed until other days? If postponed, which day will they be played instead if it’s still raining?
With all of the high schools now having artificial-turf football fields, if it’s just raining, an attempt will be made to play the games as scheduled. Problem is, if thunder and lightning accompany the rain, which also is included in some forecasts, then the action will be stopped immediately and continued minutes, hours or days later.
For those planning to attend any of this weekend’s high-school contests, whenever they might be played, regularly check the school athletic Web and Twitter sites for updates.
We’ll see what happens.
