As far as enjoying success, Madison High School sports teams certainly have enjoyed a good deal of prosperity during the pandemic-condensed and delayed winter and fall seasons.
During the winter, the Madison girls basketball team won district, region and state championships, and the girls swimming and diving squad won a region crown and finished second in the state.
The wintertime boys basketball team also had a strong campaign as did some Madison wrestlers.
During the fall season, postponed until the winter and early spring, the girls field hockey team already has won district and region titles and plays in the April 24 state final.
Same with the football team, winning district and region crowns and playing April 24 in the state semifinal.
The golf team won the Concorde District championship.
The boys cross country squad was second in the district.
What will the shortened spring sports season bring for Madison?
We’ll see what happens.
