Sports Notebook: More accolades

Must Read

It has been about a month since the Yorktown High School boys lacrosse team won district, region and state championships and finished with a 16-0 undefeated season.

Yet the accolades keep coming for the Patriots team, which was ranked high in some various final polls, like third in a state poll by Max Preps.

Also, Yorktown senior midfielder Matteo Roman recently earned All-American honors from USA Lacrosse, a big honor. Roman has committed to play college lacrosse at Division III Vassar College.

Also planning to play in college from that Yorktown team is senior goalie Gabe Margosis at the College of Wooster, also a Division III school.

Multiple Yorktown players earned all-district and all-region honors for their efforts during the campaign.

Plus, there could be other college commits among those Yorktown seniors in coming days, as the positive fallout from an undefeated state championship season continues.
