For those who haven’t traveled along Route 50 from Fairfax County into Loudoun County and back in a while, beware. Traffic is heavy and horrible most times of the day (either direction) into late evening.
Sometimes it takes two or three changes of a traffic light to get through one signal. That can occur multiple times and there are a lot of lights.
Years ago, heading west on Route 50 used to break wide open with little traffic once passing under Route 28. No more.
There have been tons of housing developments in eastern Loudoun in recent years. A lot of people now live out there, and the result is tons of traffic.
Really, it can be like rush hour in each direction in the morning and evening. And there’s tons of congestion on weekends, as well.
