For years, the Better Sports Club of Arlington has done a good job finding interesting speakers for its monthly dinner meetings.
There have been notable coaches of various sports at various levels, athletes, sports book authors, sportswriters, newspaper editors, teachers, school administrators and others. Nice job.
Add another good guest speaker to that long list.
Longtime sportswriter Christine Brennan will be the speaker at the club’s April 20 meeting at 6:15 p.m. Brennan writes for USA Today and has previously been a sportswriter for the Washington Post and Miami Herald. She also has been a sports commentator for CNN, ABC News, PBS NewsHour and National Public Radio. In addition, Brennan is a best-selling author.
She has been named one of the country’s top 10 sports columnists three times by the Associated Press sports editors, and has covered the last 20 Olympic Games, summer and winter.
The April event will be an in-person dinner upstairs in the ballroom at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The cost is $30, with a cash bar. Reserve space and purchase dinner reservation by visiting: www.bettersportsclub.org.
