These days, it’s so much easier getting game and other stats about high-school baseball and softball games and players. That also includes many summer teams of the same sports, as well.
That’s because many teams now have immediate and live game stats available on-line some where, as most games are tracked and streamed live on the Website Game Changer. So instead of having to rely on a coach or team statistician to pass along stats like in the past, and hoping they do so in a timely manner, the information instead can easily be found on the Web, either during a game or tracked down after a contest is long over.
All of the info is right there, easy access.
For example. In a recent American Legion summer baseball game won by McLean Post 270 over Springfield Post 176 by an 11-6 score, the on-line boxscore revealed the teams combined for 10 errors, just three by McLean.
Also, Robbie Coates had a big game for McLean with two hits and an RBI, and he also was the winning pitcher in relief. He allowed no runs and just one hit with four strikeouts and a walk in 3 2/3 innings.
Luke Greehan (double, three RBI), Ashton Armour (double, three RBI) and Nick Norton all had two hits for McLean.
All of the game info was right there, so there was no need to ask to have the details passed along like in the past.
It’s all so much easier now.
