Watch out for the red-hot Washington-Liberty Generals in the girls 6D North Region high-school field hockey tournament, which starts for some teams tonight.
Washington-Liberty enters the competition amidst a seven-match winning streak, including four straight shutouts and five in six games, has an 8-2 overall record, and is playing as well as any team in the field.
Among W-L’s victories was one against the defending state champion Langley Saxons. Another was over a good Yorktown team.
As a result of their strong play, the Generals won the Liberty District championship for the first time in program history.
In the region tourney, Washington-Liberty receives a first-round bye, not playing until April 12. That can only help the Generals, a team no other wants to play right now.
