Sports Notebook: A McLean day

Must Read

It was kind of an all-McLean day when it came to Saturday morning swimming meets on July 17.

Most of the many neighborhood teams in McLean either hosted meets, or competed in competition at other nearby McLean pools.

For example. The Tuckahoe Tigers of Great Falls Street in McLean hosted the Highlands Whomping Turtles of McLean. Down the road, there was another all-McLean clash as the Hamlet Green Feet hosted the Langley Wildthings.

Also, in Division 1, McLean’s Chesterbrook Tiger Sharks hosted Overlee of Arlington, and in Division 2, the McLean Marlins had a home meet.

The only McLean team away that morning were the Kent Gardens Dolphins at Cardinal Hill of Vienna.

Also, the Great Falls Rapids near McLean also hosted a July 17 meet.

With so many summer swim teams in the McLean area, often the neighborhoods are busy with Saturday morning summer meets.
