** Kyle Whippen of Arlington and Kyle Whippen of Arlington have been named to the president’s list for the fall semester at Fairmont State University.

** Edilawit Tsehay of Arlington has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Missouri Valley College.

** Kobe MacPherson of Arlington has been inducted into the Wilson College chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society.

A total of 1,100 new initiates from 41 universities recently were reported. Fewer than 5 percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.

** The Arlington House chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently partnered with Girl Scout Troop 3737 to host a Holiday Stockings for Heroes stocking-stuffing event at Arlington Central Library.

Oakton Girl Scout Troop 845 also assisted in stocking stuffings at a separate location.

Together, the DAR chapter and Girl Scouts stuffed 110 stockings to be distributed to active-duty service members and veterans by Soldiers’ Angels, an organization that provides aid, comfort and resources to the military, veterans and their communities.

The Arlington House chapter of the DAR was established in 1953; most of its 85 members live in the local area.

** The Arlington House chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently presented Randolph Elementary School with a contribution as part of the national DAR’s “Community Classroom” initiative.

The presentation was made by Arlington House chapter first vice regent Betsy Dietz to principal Carlos Ramirez.

Funding will support the food-distribution program at the elementary school.

** Arlington County Board members have reappointed Kim Deblawu and Ann Marie Douglass to the Partnership for Children, Youth and Families, and have designated Megan Mack as chair through Dec. 31, 2022.
