CASH, CURRENCY, CELLPHONE CHARGER STOLEN FROM VEHICLE AT VIENNA TAVERN: A local resident told Vienna police that on Dec. 8 between 7:35 and 10 p.m. someone had rummaged through his vehicle at Caboose Brewing Co. & Tavern, 520 Mill St., N.E., and stolen U.S. currency, a cell phone, a charger and a credit card.

SHOPLIFTER ALLEGEDLY THREATENS VIENNA GROCERY EMPLOYEE: An employee at Giant Food, 359 Maple Ave., E., told Vienna police on Dec. 9 at 10:10 a.m. that he had observed a man shoving items from the store’s shelves into a backpack.

When the employee confronted the man, the suspect took the items out of the bag and threatened the employee as he left the store, police said. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the man.

VIENNA STUDENT REPORTS SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR BY DRIVER: A juvenile student reported that she was walking near Cedar Lane School, 101 Cedar Lane, S.W., on Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. when a man driving a black Honda slowed down to talk to her and suggested they go somewhere together, Vienna police said.

The juvenile told the man to leave and he drove away on Cedar Lane, police said.

ROBBERS TAKE ITEMS FROM CONVENIENCE STORE: Two men entered the 7-Eleven store at 8110 Old Dominion Drive in McLean on Dec. 11 at 1:36 a.m., implied they had a weapon and took property, Fairfax County police said.

PROPERTY TAKEN FROM COLLISION CENTER: Someone forced entry into the BMW Collision Center at 2730 Dorr Drive in Merrifield on Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. and took property, Fairfax County police said.
