A local resident told Vienna police that, on July 1 at 5:50 p.m., while he was inside Popeyes restaurant, 325 Maple Ave., E., and picking up food, he observed a person near his vehicle in the parking lot.
When the man returned to his car, he found that his wallet and AirPods had been stolen.
The man then saw the suspect drive past in another vehicle. He began to follow him, and the driver threw his wallet out the window before exiting the parking lot onto Branch Road.
The complainant stated that nothing appeared to be missing from the wallet, said police, who still are investigating this case.
