Police: Victim assaulted; attackers come away empty-handed

On July 8 at 10:27 p.m., Arlington officers were dispatched to North Barton Street at North Fairfax Drive for a report of an assault.

Investigation revealed that a man was walking southbound on North Barton Street when the first suspect struck him with an unknown object, knocking him to the ground, and a second suspect brandished a firearm, threatened the victim and demanded property.

The victim yelled for help and the suspects fled the scene without obtaining any property, police said.

The suspects are described as black males, in their 20s, one 5’7” and the other 6 feet tall, with slim builds.
