Police: Verbal dispute leads to victim getting slashed

On Jan. 29 at 8:10 p.m., an individual entered a business in the 2500 block of 9th Road South, approached the victim and began a verbal dispute, police said.

During the incident, the suspect allegedly broke a glass bottle and began physically assaulting the victim, cutting him with a piece of glass before fleeing on foot.

The suspect was located nearby and was taken into custody. Charles Baxter, 34, of Silver Spring, was arrested, charged with malicious wounding and was held without bond.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
