On Nov. 11 at 2:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in the 400 block of 23rd Street South.
Investigation revealed that an individual was inside a business standing in line at the register behind another person, who allegedly turned around, struck the first individual in the face, exited the business and made verbal threats from outside.
Shortly thereafter, another individual attempted to enter the business, but was allegedly struck by the same suspect on the back of the head with a blunt object. The suspect then fled.
The first suspect sustained what were described as minor injuries, and declined treatment. The second suspect sustained what were described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a local hospital.
As part of their investigation, detectives developed a suspect description and obtained warrants for malicious wounding and assault-and-battery, police said.
