Must Read

On June 11 at 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Hayes Street in Arlington and were met be security personnel, who advised them that a woman had been smoking inside the building and management wanted her banned from the building.

Officers located the individual and asked her to leave the premises, but during the interaction, the suspect became combative and struck an officer in the face, police said.

As the suspect continued to strike officers, she was taken into custody with the assistance of another responding officer, police said.

The suspect – 46-year-old Sequita Merritte of Hyattsville – was arrested and charged with two counts of assault-and-battery on police. She was held without bond.
