Police: Suspects brandish firearms, pummel victims

On Feb. 5 at 7:58 p.m., a man and two women were outside a residential building in the 5100 block of 8th South when they were approached by a black sedan, police said.

Five suspects, two of whom were known by the victims, exited the vehicle, brandished firearms and assaulted the male victim, police said. The female victims were struck by the suspects when they attempted to intervene.

The male suspect sustained injuries described as minor, and declined treatment by medics.

The suspects are described as males – one black, two Hispanic and one whose race/ethnicity was not reported – in their 20s.
