A driver told Vienna police that he had been traveling southbound on Park Street, S.E., near the traffic circle at Locust Street, S.E., on Dec. 3 at 10:08 a.m. when Verizon workers allegedly threw a cable in the air and it smashed into his windshield.
The Verizon workers told police they had been directing traffic in the circle and had stopped both lanes of travel on Park Street. They said the driver allegedly ignored their commands to stop and proceeded southbound into the northbound lane of traffic when the cable made contact with his windshield, police said.
