Police: Shoplifting suspect assaults store employees

On July 14 at 11:27 a.m., an individual entered a business in the 600 block of North Glebe Road, selected merchandise and exited without paying, Arlington police said.

When two employees confronted him, the suspect allegedly assaulted the employees and threw a glass bottle that struck one of the victims, causing a laceration, police said.

Responding officers took the suspect – 31-year-old Brett Glasco of Lothian, Md. – into custody without incident. He was charged with malicious wounding and shoplifting and was held without bond.
