A local resident approached a Vienna police officer on Jan. 28 at 8:16 p.m. to report a man who allegedly was harassing juveniles at a shopping center in the 100 block of Maple Avenue, W.

The juveniles told the officer that the man approached them in front of the Panera Bread restaurant and persistently tried to get them to take marijuana from him.

Upon the officers’ interaction with the man, they detected signs of impairment and arrested him.

Police transported the 38-year-old Fairfax man to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with being drunk in public, distributing marijuana to an underage person and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
