Police: Robbery victims follow suspect until capture

On Feb. 5 at 9:45 a.m., an individual entered a business in the 1500 block of Crystal Drive and began to conceal merchandise in a bag before walking toward the exit without paying.

An employee confronted the suspect and directed that he return the items, but the suspect pushed the employee and fled the scene on foot, police said.

Employees of the store followed the suspect and pointed him out to arriving officers. Police said the suspect disregarded commands of officers and actively resisted arrest.

The suspect – 27-year-old Justice Hatcher of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of burglarious tools and obstruction of justice.
