Vienna officers on March 6 at 1 a.m. were dispatched to Lincoln Street, N.W., for a report of a domestic assault.
According to police, a man came home and become involved in a verbal dispute with his sister that escalated to a physical confrontation, during which the sister was assaulted.
A family member attempted to intervene, but the 35-year-old suspect then attacked him and fled before officers arrived, police said.
A responding officer obtained a misdemeanor warrant charging domestic assault and an emergency protective order in connection with the incident.

On March 20, the man was arrested on an unrelated charge, and was then served with the domestic-assault warrant.
