A motorist was exiting the parking lot at Wawa, 435 Maple Ave., W., on June 29 at 8:55 p.m. when the vehicle struck an individual in a motorized wheelchair who was traveling eastbound on the sidewalk that crosses the parking lot, Vienna police said.
The motorist saw the wheelchair and its occupant and attempted to stop the vehicle, but it made contact with the wheelchair, causing it to fall over, police said.
