On April 10 at 12:50 a.m., an individual was inside his vehicle in the 800 block of North Glebe Road in Arlington when three individuals approached, opened the vehicles doors, struck the victim and took his wallet, police said.

When the victim exited his vehicle, the suspects entered it and attempted to leave, but the vehicle had become immobilized, police said. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

At 1:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to North Vermont Street at North Tazewell Street for a report that two individuals were inside their vehicle when three suspects approached, demanded they exit and stole the vehicle, police said.

At approximately 4 a.m., Arlington officers were notified that Virginia State Police had initiated a pursuit on Interstate 395 in Fairfax County, headed toward Arlington. Arlington officers joined the pursuit once it entered Arlington, but the suspect vehicle fled into the District of Columbia.

Later in the day, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department and Prince George’s County Police Department located the stolen vehicle and detained its occupants, police said.

Warrants for multiple counts of carjacking, robbery and trespassing were lodged against 21-year-old Laysohn Jones of Suitland, while petitions for two juveniles are pending.
