Police: Caller tries to rope homeowner into inspection scam

Must Read

A woman living in the 400 block of Windover Avenue, N.W., told Vienna police on May 23 at 1:09 p.m. that a person had contacted her via e-mail and claimed to work for the resident’s homeowner-insurance company.

The caller claimed the need to do a home inspection.

After scheduling the inspection, the resident got suspicious and contacted her homeowner-insurance company directly. The company advised her the call was a scam, because they do not require such home inspections.
