Arlington police investigated a number of brandishing-related incident in recent days.
• On Sept. 10 at 11:55 p.m., two individuals became involved in a verbal dispute in a vehicle in the 100 block of North Thomas Street when one brandished a machete, Arlington police said.
The victim safely exited the vehicle and contacted police. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic male.
• On Sept. 11 at 12:26 p.m., a man and a woman became involved in a verbal dispute in a home in the 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington police said.
During the dispute, the man allegedly assaulted the victim, brandished a firearm and verbally threatened her before fleeing the scene, police said.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect may have been using public transit, and Metro Transit Police were notified. That agency’s officers located the suspect in the District of Columbia and took him into custody.
Warrants for assault-and-battery, brandishing and felony threats were obtained for 34-year-old Ronald Whitehead of Arlington, police said.
