Police: Assault victim not sure about prosecuting

On Sept. 5 at 3:53 a.m., Arlington police were dispatched to Virginia Hospital Center for report of a victim suffering from injuries related to an assault.

Police said an individual, who had been involved in an ongoing dispute with the victim, approached the victim inside an establishment. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the man and stole his phone, police said.

Bystanders separated the individuals and retrieved the phone, which was returned to the victim, police said.

Police said the victim, who sustained injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening, was unsure whether to prosecute.
