National Chamber Ensemble spotlights Hungary in concert

Must Read

The National Chamber Ensemble will present an online concert – “Hungarian Delicacies” – on Saturday, March 27.

Works by Bela Bartok, Ernsy von Dohnanyi, Franz Liszt and others will be performed on March 20, then be released a week later. Subscribers will have the opportunity to view the performance for the ensuing 12 days.

“Hungarian classical music creates its own musical flavor,” said Leo Sushansky, artistic director of the organization. Hungarian composers “draw on rural music of the peasants to create a distinctive style that will captivate.”

Featured will be violinists Sushansky, cellist Steven Honigberg and pianist Carlos Cesar Rodriguez. A “virtual” reception and conversation with the artists also is planned.

Tickets are $36 for adults, $18 for students. For information, see the Website at www.nationalchamberensemble.org.
