A local resident told Vienna police on Oct. 3 at 4:59 a.m. that a vehicle had stopped at Nutley Street and Maple Avenue, W., and not move after a couple of traffic-light cycles. The driver appeared asleep behind the wheel, the resident told police.

Officers observed that the vehicle was stopped with its engine off at the traffic light. Upon interacting with the driver, they detected signs of impairment.

Police arrested the 58-year-old Falls Church man and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with being drunk in public.
