McLean Scouts find success in food drive

Must Read

On Nov. 13, members of Boy Scout Troop 1130, sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean, collected nearly 2,700 pounds of food in support of SHARE Inc.’s pantry.

The collection was accomplished by 23 Scouts supplemented by 20 siblings and troop adults.

The preceding Saturday, members of Cub Scout Pack 1127 distributed bags and fliers in the neighborhoods where the food drive was taking place, alerting them to place donations out on the designated day.

“After a more informal approach due to COVID last year, the Scouts were eager to be back to the traditional Scouting for Food that is an important source of contributions for local food banks,” troop leaders said.
