The Highlander newsmagazine and Website (thehighlandernews.com) of McLean High School, advised by Lindsay Benedict and led by editors-in-chief Akash Balenalli, Heran Essayas, Marina Qu, and Jack Shields, received a 2022 Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown award in the hybrid-news category.
TJ Today from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology, advised by Erinn Harris and led by editors in-chief Sonia Kanchan, Stuti Gupta, Pratika Katiyar, Anuj Khemka, Vikram Achuthan and Annika Duneja, also received a Gold Crown award.
Marshall High School received a Certificate of Merit (honorable mention) CSPA Gold Circle award for its entry in the Digital Media and Yearbook/ Alternative Story Form category, “How It Unfolded,” published in Columbian. Marshall’s yearbook adviser is Dan Reinish, and the entry was led by editors-in-chief Sonel Cutler and Stephanie Wright.
