An employee at 7-Eleven, 537 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. that a man who appeared to be intoxicated had entered the store and requested to purchase beer.

When the employee refused to sell the man the alcohol, the man kicked the counter and left the store. Upon officers’ interaction with the man, they detected signs of impairment.

Police arrested the 42-year-old Falls Church man, who was belligerent and made repeated threats toward the officers as they took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, police said. Authorities charged the man with being drunk in public.
