Library program provides special time for those with memory loss

Must Read

The Arlington County library system is inaugurating a twice monthly “memory café” designed to give those with early-stage Alzheimer’s the chance to socialize and engage in group activities.

“We will try to follow the wishes of the group in choice of activity – these could include listening to music, singing, playing games and drawing,” library officials said. Refreshments will be served.

Gatherings will take place at Central Library from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: May 24; June 7 and 21; July 12 and 26; Aug. 9 and 23; Sept. 13 and 27; Oct. 11 and 25; and Nov. 7. Each person who attends must be accompanied by a caregiver.
