** Akhil Kumar Mada Sai of Vienna earned a master of business administration degree during recent commencement exercises at University of the Cumberlands.
** John Kling of Vienna, Aysha Berry of Vienna, Grady Dillon of Vienna, Kylie Wingate of Vienna and Braden Holt of Vienna have been named to the president’s list and Benjamin Podolny of Vienna, Ruby Larimer of McLean, Jasmine Eick of McLean and Miles Bullotta of Vienna have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Shenandoah University.
** Daniel Marks of McLean has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Ohio Wesleyan University.
** Madeline Humphreys of Vienna has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at DePauw University.
** Nell Plante of Vienna and Natalie Johnson of Vienna have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Vermont.
** Abigail Harnisch of Oakton has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Saint Mary’s College.
** Laney Bell of Vienna, Kylie Coffey of Vienna and David Reed of Vienna have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Harding University.
** Applications are being accepted through Jan. 28 for the Bank of America Student Leaders program, open to high-school juniors and seniors.
Five community-minded students from the local area will be among 300 selected nationally to participate in eight-week summer internships serving local non-profits, followed by a weeklong student-leaders summit in Washington.
Recent students who participated in the program include Spencer Nash of Langley High School, Zeinab Mukhtar of Wakefield High School and Sophia Edwards of Washington-Liberty High School.

** Virginia Union University has become the 16th member of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges.
