‘Dulles Day’ brings out crowds, raises funds for Special Olympics

A total of $440,000 was raised for Special Olympics Virginia and other charitable organizations at the 2022 Dulles Day festivities, which drew about 12,000 people to Washington Dulles International Airport on Sept. 17.

It was the first year since 2019 that the event was back in full force.
Among the highlights was the Plane Pull, in which teams of 25 worked to move aircraft borrowed from United Airlines and and FedEx a total of 25 feet.

The winning team came from the Chesapeake (Va.) Sheriff’s Office, which has won many times in the past.
