Arlington County Board members on May 14 are expected to extend the operating certificate allowing Verizon to continue providing cable-TV service in the community beyond its June 13 expiration date.
Verizon has provided cable-television service (in competition with Comcast) since 2006. Negotiations on a revised agreement with the county government began in 2019 but were slowed by the pandemic.
If approved by County Board members, the expiration date of the existing Certificate of Public Convenience will be extended to June 2023.
