Arlington school leaders have asked local parents and students to spend a moment and thank custodians at local schools for their hard work.

“Each and every custodian I meet is so proud of their schools. They treat it like their own home,” Superintendent Francisco Durán said. “Celebrate them. Anything you can do to share your appreciation with them would be greatly appreciated.”

“So much goes on behind the scenes to have our schools be ready and safe for our students and staff,” Durán said at the Sept. 30 School Board meeting.

National Custodial Appreciation Day was Oct. 2, but events saluting custodial staff at local schools have been ongoing over a number of weeks.
